The Duxbury Police Department was granted re-accreditation from the Massachusetts Police Accreditation Commission at the Commission’s Annual Meeting held in Andover.
The department originally obtained accredited status in 2006 and was re-accredited in 2009. In 2006, the Duxbury Police Department was the first Plymouth County police department to reach this milestone.

Faces attempted murder charges and a dangerousness hearing
WAREHAM - A 22-year-old Wareham man is being held at the Plymouth House of Correction pending a dangerousness hearing. According to Lt. Kevin Walsh, Joseph Gomes of 5 Apple Street in Wareham, is accused of holding a 25-year-old woman against her will, physically assaulting her and attempting to rape her over the course of Sunday night.
Pair rescued when boat sinks in Plymouth Bay

PLYMOUTH-Two boaters found themselves in cold water early Monday morning in Plymouth Bay.
According to Capt. John Rogers, the pair, a 39-year-old woman from Middleboro and a 60-year-old man from Kingston, set off near Cordage Park at around 6 a.m. in a 12-foot aluminum boat, which began to sink in 8 feet of water.

PLYMOUTH - Plymouth firefighters and police responded to Plymouth North High School Wednesday afternoon for a reported gas line strike around 2:45 p.m.
Utility workers and officials from NStar also responded to the school on Obery Street.
Rash of break-ins hits Duxbury neighborhoods

DUXBURY- Police are investigating four burglaries that occurred between Monday and Wednesday this week.
In each case, an unoccupied home was entered during the late morning or early afternoon. The suspects took jewelry, cash and other small valuables. The incidents occurred on East Street, Congress Street, High Street and Driftwood Drive.
