Special election on tap in Plymouth Saturday

Plymouth voters get their chance to weigh in on Town Meeting’s decision to tack on an extra .75 percent to the meals tax, Saturday, Jan. 14.

Polls are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. This is the first election with the town’s new 15 precinct configuration.  The new 15th precinct consists of the Pinehills and neighboring areas. Those voters will cast their ballots at the Stonebridge Club on 55 Stonebridge Road in the Pinehills. Other polling places remain the same. Residents unsure of where to vote should call the Town Clerk at 08) 747-1620 ext. 169

Town Meeting approved the tax in October, with the money earmarked for the Town’s 400th anniversary celebration and public infrastructure improvements to the Town Square, Burial Hill, and Court Square.

A yes vote approves of Town Meeting’s decision, a no vote rejects it.
